Eligibility

Entries must conform to and adhere to the letter and spirit of the PMCPA Code of Practice. You must ensure that your entry is compliant with the code and Medicines Act. We reserve the right to rescind an Award, should a breach of the code be confirmed at any time

Other common requirements are that entries must: -

Include an Executive Summary

Relate to the period indicated in the entry criteria for each category. Sales data from Q1/12 is admissible, providing it is clearly stated in your submission

Be anonymised if entering categories in the Healthcare Communications Awards section and contain no brand colours that would easily identify your agency or consultancy

Be written specifically for each category entered. Any entries submitted for more than one category that are not written to meet the specific category criteria and are duplicated will automatically be disqualified

Include benchmarks to help judges to evaluate the impact and outcomes of the work

Address the specific needs of the audience, provide value and build trust with the stakeholder group(s)

Include stakeholder references and client verdicts that confirm and support the value of the work undertaken with or for them (for example in improving patient care) and NOT a testimonial for the agency / consultancy

Entries that have been entered into previous awards must include clear evidence of substantial development / improvement together with chronology

Deliver balanced, independent and compelling work that enables stakeholders to improve clinical practice, raise standards of patient care, enhance patient safety, improve access to treatment, or overcome other current treatment barriers

Give details of any use of outside contractors and other agencies or third parties that may have been involved in the work

Who can enter?

Entries for the Communiqué Awards may be submitted by any UK, European or international:

  • PR consultancy
  • Medical education/communications agency
  • Pharmaceutical company in-house PR, corporate affairs, medical education, communications or marketing department
  • NHS or healthcare provider department or body
  • Other communications agency
  • Outside contractor or non-PR professional acting on behalf of (and with the full authorisation of) the client company
  • Patient or professional association
  • Charity
  • Government agency or department
