A finalist for Young Business of the Year, the consultancy expanded into new offices and attracted five new team members through 2011
Cheshire-based healthcare marketing consultancy Strategic North, which launched in March 2010, has been nominated for the Manchester Evening News Young Business of the Year, and finished in the top three.
Regional newspaper Manchester Evening News’ Business of the Year Awards recognise excellence in Greater Manchester-based companies across all sectors and all sizes. The 18th annual awards ceremony was held at The Point, at Lancashire County Cricket Club, with awards presented by Tony Blair’s former director of communications and strategy, Alastair Campbell.
“Strategic North is a company with a lot of potential who thoroughly deserved their place in the final. They are a strong team who have an excellent grasp of the sector and its challenges and who offer a world class service to its global client base,” said the awards’ judges.
David Coleiro, partner at Strategic North, said: “It is a fantastic achievement to have reached the final three of such a prestigious and competitive Award. It is great recognition for the work the team has done over the last two years and validation of the direction of the business.”
At the launch of the agency, which focuses on the three key areas of healthcare environment, therapy area and brand strategy, Coleiro said: "We all have the analytical, creative and strategic horsepower to distil and interpret multiple sources of information so we can pinpoint the key strategic insights.” The strategy has served the agency well, as the company has continued to expand since its launch, attracting new clients as well as retaining existing ones, growing its team and moving into new offices.
The team’s most recent recruit is Paula Lashley, formerly of SSL International (part of the Reckitt Benckiser Group), who joins Strategic North in the role of consultant.
“I am excited and proud to be joining the team at Strategic North. The pharmaceutical industry is facing some tough challenges, now and in the future, and the approach taken by Strategic North to help companies navigate this uncertain future is compelling. I am delighted to be joining an insightful, dedicated and inspiring team with a clear passion for the work they do,” said Paula.
